It's (not a) Mystery

Yes, it's Wendy's Summer Mystery Shawlette. So that mystery isn't a mystery anymore.

On Wednesday, I knit the first two rows of the first chart while we were coming back from a quick visit upstate. I was very proud of myself for knitting the lace row in the car despite a bumpy road, two phone calls and a text message received. Plus the hubster turned into a Chatty Charlie and wanted to discuss some Deep Thoughts.

Today, I picked up the shawlette to finish the rest of the chart before the next clue is released on Sunday and. . . . AAAAARGH! Each half of the shawl has a 12-stitch pattern that's repeated 7 times. However, it appears that I knit 6 repeats on one half and 8 on the other.

It's no mystery how that happened! I was distracted and, since all the stitches were accounted for, never gave it a thought to check. Lesson learned!

lol....how is it that you can drive 100 miles and no one talks and no one calls and then you start trying to knit a chart and hubby gets into a rare mood to talk about Deep Thoughts and everyone and their dog calls? How I relate!

The fun is in the journey, right? I LOVE your yarn. This is going to look great.

I had to rip back and start again due to getting count wrong. I also invested in a new circular needle due to problems with yarn choice just not moving on the needles I started with. All is going much better now. I am on row 7. I like the color you have chosen.

Don't you hate that? I switched colors on the wrong side the other day and didn't notice until I had woven in the ends. Gah!

My Hubby actually apologized today for interrupting me when I was counting a gusset pick up. I have him so well trained now. I think..
