That's enough yarn for 30 pairs of socks. I'm sure you're thinking, "Gee, that isn't so bad." However, how many socks have I actually knitted? 4 and a half pairs. Yes, folks, in the four years that I've been knitting, I've averaged a pair a year.
Hmmmm. . . . getting out the calculator and the actuarial table, it seems that I've achieved SABLE. (Stash Acquistion Beyond Life Expectancy)

That's sock yarn I inherited from my Mom's yarn stash. My mother inherited that yarn from her friend. We're talking antique sock yarn. Look at that price tag--39 cents!

My Mom's friend passed away about fifteen years ago and I wonder how long she had that yarn. And I think I better add the sock yarn stash to my will.
