Status Quo

Nothing new here. All the projects that were on the needles are still on the needles.

Startitis fever has passed.

However, over the past few days, I've discovered that in my aunt's needle box are some needles that some people covet.

Besides these three circlon needles, I have two more. When I get the time, I'll play around with them and see for myself how they compare to these new-fangled needles. Stay tuned!

Has anybody used the old Susan Bates circlon needles? What do you think of them?

I'm not sure if that's what I have, but I found a pink less than 16 in. plastic circular in a stash given to my church knitting group. I made a few hats with it and love the thing, since I don't have to switch to DPNs till a few rows from the end.

I have a couple pairs. I love them because the points flex a little. Very comfortable to knit with.

They look incredibly lightweight!

I've never used them, but I enlarged the photo and the tips look nice and pointy. Besides I'd trust Aunt Ellie's judgment.

I know nothing about the needles, but I know that ribbing for that sweater! And it's beautiful!

Sounds like my knitting...inching along. I have a bunch of the old needles because I go to garage sales and usually buy the pack - or people donate them to me because of my knitting club at school. I haven't used the small ones, but I like them.

Since I've been knitting all my life, these don't seem "old" to me..LOL, more like old friends. I like them because there's no jog in the join and they don't snag. My favorite needles are the addi turbos but I can't afford to replace all my "old" needles! Your blog is lovely.

I've never seen them before but they look like they would be very lightweight.

I love my "vintage" plastic circular needles. They're wonderful for lace since the points are well formed. As some others have said, they're light as well.

I am happy to make them at home in my collection if you decide that you don't like them.

Of course, I've heard that the signature needles are a joy to work with as well.

Happy knitting,

I inherited some and love them--great points and non-snagging joins. Do UWS Knitters get dibs?
